If you are searching for your English ancestors, look to the website www.genesreunited.co.uk. It is a family tree database that boasts 106 million names and over 6 million trees. Once your tree is on the website you and other members are able to search and match common ancestors and communicate with each other, have access to each other's website .

The first cousin I met thrrough genesreunited was David Kemp. He allowed me access to his tree and I discovered who my ancestors were. Without his help I may never have discovered who the "Granny Abbott" of my childhood nor who the "unregistered" Dora Abbott's descendents were. Thank you so much David. I also used www.ancestry.co.uk for British census census information. I found that the British records were readily available, easy to get and well presented on Ancestry.

Mike Guess contacted me when he discovered that I had Spenceley ancestors and led me to his own website where I found he had already researched the Spenceley line. Thank you Mike.

Also I have to thank my Cadman cousins, Gillian, Tonia, Ian and Beverley for sharing their Cadman trees with me. Ian provided a picture of my great great grandfather Charles Cadman, and a picture of Louisa Cadman. Thank you Ian.

Putting together my husband's tree was more difficult. There is nothing like genesreunited in the USA so I joined www.ancestry.com which was the only site that had the complete USA censuses. It also has family trees but very few BMD databases. so my journey trying to find Don's ancestors has been a lot more frustrating.

I've done quite a lot of research through the LDS. (Latter Day Saints or Mormon Church). They have libraries all over the world attached to their churches. Their records are amazing and are from all over the world apparently. Their libraries are free for anyone to use no matter your religion. The best part is that they have provided www.ancestry.com with their databases so their libraries have ancestry free for you to to use on their computers. If you are using a smaller library, you may have to order records which cost $ and can take up to 3 weeks to obtain and they are not necessarilty what you need but that is the risk you have to take sometimes. because when you order the records you don't always get what you thought you would get.

Sue Oxerart a cousin on Don's side of the family who was particularly helpful when I began researching my husband's ancestors. She provided me with family stories her mother had told her and copied to CD, a cashe of the most amazing photographs of her grandparents. They can be seen on this website. Thank you Sue!
